“biko’s children”

Posted on February 8, 2012

Hello all,

check out this South African filmmaker’s work – Breeze Yoko’s – whose films touch our questions:  the (re-)making of history and images. “biko’s children” is an excellent example. it was produced in 2007, shown in 2008 at the berlinale  & has not lost its message over the years – in fact, i would invite you to think further: what does biko say in 2012? does he matter?  does he speak to you? what does it take to listen? and what does the reproduction and re-interpretation of icons mean in the context of our questions?
